Key Concepts: Open, Closed, Active, and Inactive Surveys
Before diving into specific scenarios, it’s important to understand two key concepts:- Open Survey: A survey that is still accepting responses.
- Closed Survey: A survey that is no longer accepting responses.
- Active Survey: A survey that is still live and can be re-opened if necessary.
- Inactive Survey: A survey that is no longer live and cannot be re-opened.
Scenario 1: Participant Changes During an Open and Active Survey
-
Removing a Participant Who Has Responded:
- Action: The participant is removed during the survey period.
- Impact: The participant remains counted in the participation rate since they have already responded.
-
Removing a Participant Who Has Not Responded:
- Action: The participant is removed during the survey period.
- Impact: The participant is not counted in the participation rate as they did not respond before being removed.
-
Adding a Participant Who Has Not Responded:
- Action: The participant is added during the survey period.
- Impact: The participant is included in the participation rate calculation.
-
Adding a Participant Who Has Already Responded:
- Action: The participant is added during the survey period and responds after being added.
- Impact: The participant is counted in the participation rate as they have responded.
Scenario 2: Participant Changes After the Survey Has Closed But While It Is Still Active
-
Removing a Participant Who Has Responded:
- Action: The participant is removed after the survey period has closed.
- Impact: The participant remains counted in the participation rate since they responded before the survey closed.
-
Removing a Participant Who Has Not Responded:
- Action: The participant is removed after the survey period has closed.
- Impact: The participant is still counted in the participation rate because they were part of the survey at the time of closure.
-
Adding a Participant After the Survey Has Closed:
- Action: The participant is added after the survey period has closed.
- Impact: The participant is not counted in the participation rate as they were not part of the survey during its active response period.
