IT Onboarding at Honestly: Technical Requirements & Best Practices

Technical setup guide for IT teams: email whitelisting, optional SSO, and HCM integrations to ensure Honestly runs reliably across your organization.

To ensure Honestly runs smoothly in your organization, a few technical setup steps are required.

This article is intended for IT teams and provides a clear overview of the recommended and optional configurations needed for a successful setup.

1. Email Whitelisting (Recommended)

To ensure that survey invitations and reminders from Honestly reach all employees, we recommend setting up email whitelisting in your email infrastructure.

Please whitelist the following:

IP address
87.253.239.34

Sender email address
kontakt@honestlymail.de

This helps prevent survey emails from being blocked or filtered as spam.

2. Set Up Single Sign-On (SSO) (Optional*)

*Note: SSO is included by default in the Enterprise plan. If you are on the Team or Business plan and would like to use SSO, it can be purchased as an additional add-on.

Honestly supports Single Sign-On (SSO), allowing employees to log in using their existing company credentials.

Supported standards & systems

  • SAML 2.0
  • Azure Active Directory

SSO is optional but provides additional convenience and enhanced security.

3. Synchronizing Employee Data (HCM Integration)

To keep employee data up to date automatically, Honestly offers several integration options depending on your HR system.


3.1 Personio

If you use Personio, you can take advantage of our native Personio integration to keep your employee data synchronized.

3.2 Other HCM Systems (e.g. Factorial, Deel, HiBob)

For many other HR systems, Honestly offers native integrations via our partner Kombo.

3.3 CSV Integration (Roles & Permissions)*

*Note: This option is included by default in the Enterprise plan. If you are on the Team or Business plan and would like to use it, it can be purchased as an additional add-on.

If you need to synchronize roles and permission attributes in addition to basic employee data, we recommend using the CSV integration.

Important:
Personio and Kombo integrations do not sync roles or permissions.

With the CSV integration, you can define:

  • User roles (Admin, Manager, Analyst, Report Viewer)
  • Permission attributes for data access (e.g. business unit, location, department)
