Who can see the results of a 360° feedback run?
Results of a 360° feedback run are strictly scoped: by default, only admins and the feedback recipient themselves can see a recipient's results. Optionally, you can grant a recipient's direct manager access. This article explains the roles and how to configure them.
You manage this in the Permissions tab when creating or editing a run.
Please note:
-
Permissions can only be changed while the run is in Draft status. Once a run is scheduled or active, the setting is locked.
-
Standard roles (Admin, Feedback Recipient) are system-defined and cannot be changed.
-
The setting applies run-wide. Either every recipient's direct manager gets access, or none of them do — it cannot be toggled per recipient.
Standard roles
Every run has two built-in roles:
-
Admin — Sees all results for all feedback recipients. Admins have system access and this cannot be restricted.
-
Feedback Recipient — Sees only their own results.
These roles always exist and are shown under Standard roles for transparency. They cannot be disabled.
Optional: give direct managers access
Under Additional access you can enable:
-
Manager (Reports-to) — Direct managers can view their direct reports' 360° feedback results on the dashboard.
"Direct manager" here refers to the Reports-to relationship that is maintained on the employee record — not to survey reviewers.
When this option is enabled, every recipient's direct manager gets access to that recipient's dashboard — only to their own reports, not to other recipients. When it is disabled, only the recipient and admins can see the results.
Why reviewers never see results
Reviewers — the people who give feedback — never see aggregated results on the dashboard unless they happen to hold one of the roles above (for example, a direct manager reviewing one of their reports). Their submissions are always subject to the anonymity thresholds configured for the run.
Changing access after activation
Once the run is scheduled or active, the Permissions tab becomes read-only — including the Manager (Reports-to) setting. If you realise after scheduling that the access configuration needs to change, contact Honestly support.
Because of this, it is worth deciding carefully on the Permissions tab before scheduling: the choice you make there stays in effect for the whole run.
