      How can I integrate with Slack?

      The Honestly Slack integration enables organizations to send survey invitations and reminders directly to employees through Slack. This improves visibility and response rates by reaching people in their daily workflow.

      Key Features

      • Survey invitations and reminders via Slack direct messages

      • Simple setup by Slack workspace admins

      Prerequisites

      To use the Slack integration, make sure that:

      • You have admin rights to install apps in your Slack workspace

      • Employees have Honestly accounts using the same email addresses as their Slack profiles

      Installation Instructions

      1. Within the Honestly app, go to Settings ➔ Integrations

      2. Click "Connect" ➔ "Add to Slack" on the Slack integration card

      3. Review and authorize the requested Slack permissions (chat:write, users:read, users:read.email)

      4. After clicking "Allow", you’ll be redirected back to Honestly

      5. The Honestly app will now be listed in your Slack workspace's Apps directory

      Workspace admins can review permissions, revoke access, and remove the app if needed. 

      How It Works

      • When a survey is launched, Honestly sends a direct message in Slack to employees whose emails match between Honestly and Slack

      • Reminders are sent in the same manner

      • Clicking the link in Slack opens the survey in a browser

      User Synchronization

      • Initial Sync: When the Slack integration is connected, Honestly fetches all users from the Slack workspace

      • Employee Matching: Users are matched based on their email addresses

      • Scheduled Sync: User synchronization runs automatically on the 3rd and 15th of each month at 3:45 AM

        The sync includes:

        • New Slack users

        • Deactivated Slack users

        • New Honestly employees matching existing Slack users

      Troubleshooting

      • Not receiving messages? Check that your Honestly account and Slack profile use the same email address

      • Can’t install the app? Verify that you have admin rights in your Slack workspace

      Privacy & Data Security

      • Messages are only sent to users who are part of active surveys and have matching emails

      • No other personal information is shared between Honestly and Slack
