# What does the GDPR confirmation for new employees say?

> The first time someone takes part in a survey, they confirm the privacy policy once before submitting. This article explains what that page says, when it appears and what happens if someone does not accept.

When someone takes part in a survey through a personal invitation for the first time, Honestly shows a privacy page before the answers are submitted. There they accept the privacy policy, and only then are their answers sent.

### What the page says

The page is headed **Your data privacy is important to us.** and makes three commitments:

* **Your feedback is anonymous unless explicitly stated otherwise.**
* **Your feedback is always encrypted while in transit.**
* **Your feedback is only stored and processed within the EU.**

Below them is a link to Honestly's privacy policy. On the previous participation page it reads **You can find further information in our data privacy policy.**, on the new participation page **Imprint & Privacy Policy**.

The page appears in the language the person is taking the survey in. The text is the same for every company and cannot be customised.

### How the confirmation works

The page comes after the last question, right before submitting:

* **Previous participation page:** employees click **Accept the data privacy policy and send feedback!**, which gives the confirmation and sends the answers in one step.
* **New participation page:** the privacy page follows the **Your answers** overview. Employees tick **Accept the privacy policy** and then click **Submit**.

Answers cannot be submitted without this confirmation.

### When the page appears

Honestly remembers the confirmation per employee. It is given once, on the first survey someone takes part in, and applies to every survey after that. That is why it is mostly new employees who see this page, while colleagues who have taken part before no longer do.

Someone taking part through an anonymous survey link is not linked to a person. There the page appears at most when they volunteer personal details, such as answering a non-anonymous question or entering their email address.
