# How do I translate a 360° feedback run into other languages?

> Use the Translations tab to add languages to a 360° feedback run and translate its questions, run texts and invitation emails — field by field or with automatic suggestions.

[Go to 360° Feedback ↗](https://webapp.honestly.de/app#/multi-rater-feedback) · Opens the webapp — please log in first · Requires 360° Feedback, the Multilingual Surveys and Dashboards feature and admin rights

A 360° feedback run has one source language and as many additional languages as you need. You maintain the source language in the run's other tabs, and every additional language in the **Translations** tab.

### Where to find the translations

1. Click **360° Feedback** in the main navigation and open the run.

2. Switch to the **Translations** tab. In the wizard it sits between **Notifications** and **Schedule**.

You see an overview of every language in this run with the columns **Language**, **Progress** and **Actions**. Progress shows how many of the translatable fields in that language are already filled in.

<Note>
  * The tab only appears if the **Multilingual Surveys and Dashboards** feature is enabled for your account.

  * The source language is the profile language of the person who created the run. It is marked **Source** in the overview.
</Note>

### Add a language and translate it

1. Below the overview, click **Add language** and pick the language you need.

2. Select that language in the overview. The editor opens underneath: the source-language text on the left, the field for your translation on the right.

3. Translate the content. You have two options:

   * **Suggest all missing** fills every empty field in this language with an automatic suggestion in one go.

   * **Suggest translation** next to a field creates a suggestion for that field only. You can of course also type the text yourself.

4. Review the texts and adjust them where needed.

5. Click **Save**.

<Warning>
  Suggestions are only placed in the form, not saved. If you select another language without saving, your changes are lost — Honestly asks before discarding them.
</Warning>

**Find & Replace** lets you change a phrase across the whole language in one step, for example a technical term the suggestions translated differently. Before applying, you see every match in a preview.

Have automatically generated translations checked by someone who speaks the language. Suggestions do not always get technical terms and forms of address right.

### What you can translate

The editor is split into three sections, each showing how many fields are still missing:

* **Questions** — for each question, the **Question text**, the **Description** and the **Answer options**.

* **Run texts** — the run's **Name**, **Welcome text** and **Goodbye text**.

* **Notifications** — **Subject** and **Body** of the invitation emails, separately for **Reviewer** and **Self-assessment**.

Each person receives the invitation email in their profile language, as long as that language has been added to the run. Otherwise it is sent in the source language.

<Note>
  The results notification is fixed and cannot be translated.
</Note>

### What happens when a translation is missing

A language does not have to be fully translated before you can use it. If a translation is missing, the element is shown in the source language.

The source language itself cannot be edited in the **Translations** tab. You change its texts where they are created: name, welcome and goodbye text in the **Details** tab, questions in the **Questions** tab and the emails in the **Notifications** tab.

### Change the source language or delete a language

**Change source language** makes another language the source language. This only works with a language that is fully translated, meaning it shows 100 %.

To remove a language you no longer need, use the **Delete language** bin icon in the **Actions** column. The source language cannot be deleted.

### When to translate

Finish the translations before you schedule the run in the **Schedule** tab. That way, invitations and the survey are fully translated from day one. How to schedule a run is described in [How do I schedule a run and what can I still change once it is active?](/help/360-feedback/schedule-a-run).
